Showcase

Welcome to my showcase.  On this page you will find the highlights of work I created while pursuing my Master's of Arts in Educational Technology.  Many of the courses I chose to take piqued my interest in Educational Technology and allowed me to develop a deeper understanding about effective ways to utilize technology.  One of the major themes of my education was technology with a purpose.  This concept is one that I have embraced and plan to implement in my classroom as well as influence my colleagues to do the same.

Projects

In this section you will find several projects that I have worked on during my master's program.  There are two PowerPoints, one PowToon, one Prezi, and a Webquest.  These were all created for various reasons.  Overall the feel should be  a progression of my studies in the MAET program.

In CEP 810, I worked on a Special Interest Group (SIG) project with two other students.  We focused on the use of educational technology tools for Common Core State Standards.

For CEP 811, I created the webquest (below) for World History.  This was my first interaction with a resource of this type and I was very nervous and confused as to what I needed and what I didn't.

In CEP 812, I, along with my group, investigated the idea of Failure as a Learning Mode.  I believe that failure is an important tool that is often left out of education for various reasons.

For Creativity in Teaching and Learning, I made the Elevator Pitch PowerPoint.

The PowToon was created as a means of telling others about a topic but doing so in a way that wasn't the typical PowerPoint.  I chose to discuss the use of TPACK (Technology, Pediagogical and Content Knowledge) and Leadership.

Websites & Blogs

In this section you will find several websites that I have been working on as well as the blog that I created at the start of the MAET program.  I have embeded all of the sites for easier exploration.  There are also links to them in the headings. You can also view links to the websites on the websites subsection.

First you will come across my blog.  This shows my first interactions with Educational Technology as well as my perceptions at the beginning of the MAET program. This blog covers my first three courses, also known as the Certificate Program.  After taking CEP 812, I felt the need to create a seperate location for my work.  This led to the creation of my website for the Fall of 2013 and Spring of 2014. The final website that needed to be created was for my Big Kahuna Project in CEP 817.  For this project, I created a website about Social Learning.  It is a source of information for both teachers and students.  I wanted to take the time to look at learning from both perspectives.  We are social people and as teachers we sometimes forget that our students talk to each other about classes as much as we talk to our colleagues about classes.  We all discuss what is going on and how learning is taking place.
